You know by now Accento’s designs are unconventional and defy expectations with subtle details. This is also the case with this Umami collection, which on the surface looks like an ordinary dining chair but on closer look, surprising details such as the backrest made up of two curved pieces and a slender frame, add unexpected movement and dynamism to the construction. The Accento philosophy of separating the load-bearing elements from each other, thus creating space is evident in this chair giving in all versions from the padded one to the one with the cane or rope backrest a very comfortable seating while maintaining its lightness and looking beautiful from all corners. The chair is made of beech and can be customized thanks to the combinations of the upholstery, in fabric or leather, cane, rope and the different wood finishes. The manufacturing of the item requires a manual installation of the rope or cane that needs artisanal craft and creates an elaborate interplay with the bentwood parts
With it we hope to have achieved how Japanese translate Umami to English the “essence of deliciousness”
